1930 - 1931 Windshield Header Panels

The picture above shows the 1930-31 coupe, sport coupe, and fordor sedan windshield header panel on the bottom, and the 1930-31 tudor sedan and pickup style on the top. The basic difference is the height dimension of the outer panel face visible on the outside below the sunvisor.

The dimension of the visible front face of the panel at vehicle centerline is 2-3/8 inch for the coupe/fordor panel, and is 3-1/8 inch for the tudor/pickup panel. The 3/4 inch difference is evident on the left hand side of the pic above.

Shown above is the outboard end of a coupe header panel. Evident here is the taper at the ends of the lower channel. This taper looks like a warped panel, but it is actually symmetrical and is in all panels. I believe its purpose is to provide slight clearance to the increased thickness of the windshield at the upper corners where the screw and nut pass through.
